Independent Learning
To build curiosity, give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar contexts and to ensure substantive knowledge is instilled in our students long term memory, we believe independent learning is crucial to allowing our pupils to thrive.
Through the use of knowledge organisers, online platforms and extended reading opportunities, we provide our pupils with the tools to consolidate and enhance their ability to recall and retrieve knowledge and apply geographical thinking to the wider world they live in.
At KS3, independent learning will be set twice per half term and at KS4 and KS5, independent learning will be set weekly. Independent learning will be set through Satchel One so parents and students can see the expectations of the independent learning provided and be able to support their students in completing this away from the classroom.
Please also see the study support section of the website for further information on independent learning.
