Newark Community Art Club

Newark Academy is the first centre in Newark to be involved in the Arts Award Discover (Whole School - 13/11/2017)

The Newark Community Art Club has successfully led 15 students from Newark Academy, John Hunt, Holy Trinity & Chuter Ede, through their 'Discover' Arts Award.

The students have been working with local Artist and leader of the club, Elaine Winter. Those achieving their certificates have shown a great deal of commitment to the arts whilst working towards this award.

To achieve an Arts Award Discover, children and young people collect evidence in an individual arts log of their experiences of:

• Participating in arts activities
• Researching artists and their work
• Sharing their experiences of the arts with others

By completing this award the children have developed a better understanding of the arts and also their communication skills.

Newark Academy is so proud to be involved as the first centre in Newark to deliver this award to young people in the community via the Newark Community Art Club.

We will now be looking at embarking them on their next level in due course!!
