New Look Student Council for 2016-17
We all know how valuable student voice can be and Newark Academy’s Student Council will be paramount in introducing change within school to make it a better place for the students who study there.
Led by our Head Boy and Head Girl, student voice enables all students to be represented through our newly formed KS3 and KS4 Student Councils. Meeting on a termly basis, the Councils will discuss, suggest and put forward ideas to make our learning community even stronger.
Representatives from the KS3/4 Council will also be elected on to our Shadow Student Leadership Team. The Student Leadership Team are advocates for all students within the academy and strive to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team within the academy to make improvements. They are regularly involved with interviews for new staff at the school, as well as tours, assemblies and other activities which promote the school. One of their main aims is to ensure all students enjoy their time and achieve their potential at Newark Academy by establishing a positive atmosphere and ensuring everyone feels their views are heard.
