Students represent Newark Academy at the County Cross Country Championships
Wollaton Park was a little cold but this did not stop our athletes take to the tough course.
They were all running at different times throughout the morning with the year 8/9 girls up first. A tough race, which had some experienced runners, saw our girls run their own race. Congratulations to Ella and Lucy for their efforts.
Next up was the turn of the year 7's. A few missing due to illness but we fielded four girls and one boy. Again there were some experienced runners who were out to win. All Newark Academy students had a great start and ended up in the middle of the pack. The undulating grounds at Wollaton took its toll on some of the runners whilst some stayed in the middle other dropped back by the end of the race.
Great racing by all and a fantastic experience.
